Serving Hand Crafted Authentic Gourmet Belgian Waffles Sara Ho, at just 25 years old, is the owner and chef of À LA WAFFLE.  Having her own bakery has been a life long dream of hers and it came true on July 11, 2017 when she opened À LA WAFFLE.  Infatuated with baking and desserts since age 5 , Sara would continue baking desserts over the years when she wasn’t working countless odd jobs as a waitress, secretary, intern, and being a full time student at California State University of Long Beach.  After graduating from CSULB in 2015 with a BS in American Studies and a minor in Hospitality Food Service and Hotel Management, she found herself a position working at Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion restaurant as a line cook specializing in pastry.  There she realized that she could make a career out of food and be a happier person doing so.  She knew she had to start that bakery she had always dreamed of since she was little.  Now with all the full support from her family and friends and countless hours of work by Sara and her loved ones,  À LA WAFFLE has been created and Sara can not wait to keep providing you all with high quality desserts to keep everyone’s sweet tooth delighted. 

The Katella Deli – officially, the Katella Bakery, Deli and Restaurant —  has been a landmark institution in Los Alamitos for over 50 years.  It was started by Sam and Shirley Ratman in the 1950s who came to America from Eastern Europe in search of a better life.  Their sons, Allan, Harold & Larry, have continued their tradition of authentic family style meals and fresh baked rye, challah, cakes and pastries.  All of the food items are prepared in house including their famous corned beef and pastrami. Sam’s initial recipes live on in the hands and hearts of the Katella’s expert bakers.  A portion of the original mother dough still starts each and every loaf they bake. Many of our traditional meals are Shirley’s original recipes; Matzo Ball Soup,Potato Latkes, Sweet and Sour Cabbage, and Chicken Soup. Whether you are here for one of our signature meals, or for the best Pastrami Sandwich around, you can be assured that quality, care, and great taste are in every bite.  We thank you for being part of our success!
